"Starling Marte running everything down in the outfield," Wilson said of the Pirates' No. 3 prospect in explaining one reason for his success. "He can really track anything down."

With help from Marte -- three catches in center field, including two of Wilson's final three outs -- Wilson combined with three relievers on a one-hitter in the Indians' 2-1 road win over the Charlotte Knights.

The Bucs' ninth-ranked prospect retired his first nine batters before Greg Golson started the fourth inning with a double toward Marte. He stole third and scored on Conor Jackson's groundout.

"Fastball out over the plate and he got it," Wilson said of Golson. "Bad pitch by me, good hitting by him."

While he issued two more free passes, Wilson did not allow another hit. The 24-year-old left-hander struck out five and had thrown 95 pitches when he exited.

"I was happy with getting though six and making quality pitches," he said, "being aggressive like last start and using my off-speed pitches."

Jose Diaz pitched a 1-2-3 seventh, Daniel McCutchen (3-2) circumvented a walk in the eighth and Tim Wood, a third right-hander, struck out two in a clean ninth for his seventh save.

Diaz also pitched the eighth in the Wilson-led no-hitter on April 19, while McCutchen is currently on a rehab assignment from the Majors. He hadn't pitched for Indianapolis since May 8.

"Always great to see them shut the door like that," said Wilson, who is in his second full season at Triple-A.

While he did not earn the win, Wilson lowered his ERA through 14 starts to 3.62. One of his best outings came on Monday, when he gave up four hits over seven scoreless innings to beat Rochester. He had allowed 10 runs on 13 hits over his previous two outings.

"I just want to build off these last two," he said.

Knights starter Charlie Leesman was nearly as good, yielding an unearned run on five hits over seven frames. The White Sox's No. 11 prospect struck out a season-high nine but couldn't win his fifth straight start.

Jeff Clement slugged a ninth-inning solo shot off Leesman's lone reliever, Jhan Marinez (1-2), to put the Indians ahead.

In defeat, Ray Olmedo went 0-for-3 with a strikeout, snapping his on-base streak at 30 games.
