The Rochester Red Wings dropped the fifth of a six-game set against Scranton/WB Saturday night, 7-2. RHP Roddery Muñoz tied his season-high with 4.0 innings pitched on two earned in his start, while CF Derek Hill, 2B Luis García, and RF Erick Mejia each laced a double.

Scranton/WB kicked off the scoring yet again Saturday night, this time in their first at-bats of the contest. 2B Jamie Westbrook walked with one out, and quickly came around to score on a 1B Andres Chapparo single and an error in right field to make the score 1-0.

Rochester opponents have now scored first in 16 of the last 17 games dating back to 8/13 against Lehigh Valley.

Derek Hill roped his 16th double of the season with one out in the bottom half and came around to score on another two-bagger off the bat of Luis García to tie the game. The score would remain tied until the top of the fifth when LF Estevan Florial logged a sacrifice fly to score SS Wilmer Difo and pushed the RailRiders out in front. Rochester was able to escape the inning without any further damage after 3B Jack Dunn cut down CF Brandon Lockridge at the plate trying to score on a ground ball.

SS Richie Martin tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom half, driving in Erick Mejia who led off the inning with his seventh double of the season. A bases-loaded double play ended the threat for the Wings, and the score remained at 2-2 heading to the sixth.

DH Franchy Cordero led off the sixth with a single and stole second base the following at-bat. He came around to score on an RBI single up the middle by C Rodolfo Duran to give Scranton/WB the lead for the third time.

The RailRiders loaded the bases with no one out in the seventh on a pair of walks and an error. Chapparo drove a deep fly ball to left-center field to score Lockridge and extended their lead to 4-2. RHP Jose Mujica induced a double play after intentionally walking the bases loaded to keep the deficit at only two runs.

SS Wilmer Difo walked, and Lockridge laced his second hit of the night to set the table for Estevan Florial. The lefty roped a double that short-hopped the right field wall and allowed both runners to score, putting Scranton/WB in control with a 6-2 lead on four unanswered runs.

Scranton/WB added an insurance run in the ninth on back-to-back doubles from 3B Jake Lamb and Duran, and held Rochester off the board in the ninth to hand the Wings a 7-2 loss.

Roddery Muñoz made his seventh start for the Wings Saturday night and tied a career-high with 4.0 innings of work, allowing two earned on four hits while striking out three. LHP Anthony Banda followed with 2.0 innings of his own, allowing one earned on two hits. Jose Mujica, making his first appearance with the Wings since 6/6, allowed an unearned run through an inning of work. RHP Daniel Mengden covered the eighth and ninth, allowing three earned on five hits while striking out two.

Diamond Pro Player of the Game honors go to CF Derek Hill. The Detroit native went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and a pair of walks, drawing a free pass for the fourth consecutive game. This was his first game with two walks since 6/4 against Syracuse.

Rochester looks to secure the series win Sunday afternoon in the finale against Scranton/WB. LHP Alemao Hernandez looks to string together winning decisions, toeing the rubber against RailRiders RHP Mitch Spence for a second time in the series. The weekend matinee is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
